| From the Where2sing.com forum: Boiling Point ....Firstly this person needs to do some Karaoke Homework and find a venue to suit there specific needs although it will take quite some leg work to find such a venue that is more like a church meeting than a pumping pub but you never know !,
I have been to a karaoke that was put on in a like shout hall where to sing you had to pay $2 , the operator was thinking outside the box , he would not listen to advice and sure enough it only lasted 4 Friday nights , i went to every one of these nights because he is a mate , firstly all the folks that came there brought there own drink and food and would not buy the things he had up for sale , and it is amazing that the Non drinkers with a 100 reasons why they can't drink Alcohol at pubs suddenly had No problems or reasons to drinking grog they brought along to Hall , then most whinged about paying a lousy $2 per song even when they knew this show and the food and drink was he's only source of income but they didn't care less it was always only about what there needs were, so he had to let singers up for free to boust the night along , and i told him that karaoke has a uncanny ability of bring these type of folks out of the wood work so after 4 weeks of disappointment and he was getting around 30 to 40 people there but not enough money to pay he's fuel to gave the idea the boot , but at least he Had shot at it , now he is no longer a host and has very little to do with karaoke .
