A host has a business with all the gear, and he needs a place from which to work. A cheap shop would seem like an increasingly good option as a base in this time of lessening demand for retail - on a busy road would be great for ambient noise and likely few complaining neighbours, as well as great exposure. During the day, a cafe - softdrink and coffee is at a low price but with huge markup, noting that Starbucks has now pushed the price that people will pay for coffee. A stage in the main room, practice rooms at hourly rate out the back to capitalise on Asian students who currently pay huge per hour prices. For the Western karaoke singer, the USP being karaoke at a time when it's simply not available anywhere else. As for alcohol,. even heard of Irish coffee...
