| From the Where2sing.com forum: I don't think its that simple. 'Successful gigs' seem to fall into two camps (1) the backpacker venue with lots and lots of poor-average singers and large rotation times (2) the 'carberat' venue with a small number of good singers and a listening audience. (2) only works if the singers don't brandish ego and interact with the listeners and have a bit of variety in what they choose - even if it isn't signature song quality as no-one is going to listen to the same songs week in and week out. Thus, the SWD's who don't interact with the crowd and pick the same two songs each week tend to drag it down (sorry).
