| From the Where2sing.com forum: I see eBay in conjunction with specialist forums offering the same niche service but straight from the factory door. And yes, this usually means Hong Kong / China. However, there is nothing stopping small craft people with appropriate equipment from setting up shop out whoop-whoop and building a business in the same way. I suspect what stops people is there is no easy money anymore - no cruise overseas and import a container-load of goodies without the customer or factory being the wiser. You have to mill from scratch, wind motors by hand and program controllers from first principals.
I've been impressed with a small Chinese factory building electric motor-bike engines and a fantastic Israel factory on an apartment balcony building electric choppers out of milled steel from scratch and it looks bloody fantastic. Yes, it took him 2 years to build one by hand but its one of a kind.
And yes, my latest diversion is building an electric motorbike ( sorry David ;)
