| From the Where2sing.com forum: LB, ah, I'm following you now. I'm just not sure that, weighing morals versus pocket, that the former wins out. Or, rather, except in the circumstances where there is a choice of supplier - and since this particular conversation started with a moan about the lack of technical ability of shops, and the only one put forward at the moment is Jaycar, I feel we are all rather, err, choice-less.
As for businesses following ethical courses, I've been amazed by the predatory antics of such as Google, Amazon and Apple in chasing patents on concepts as wide as Amazon's one-click-to-order concept, successfully registering these patents, and then holding the rest of the world to ransom (I believe that Apple pays a licencing fee to Amazon to have a one-click button on iTunes). That concerns me far more than the unwise and perhaps out-of-touch words of one person.
Not sure I'm quite with MB, ast customers' needs will be filled from some supplier if not the one in question. Therefore the same amount of money will change hands, employees (albeit other ones) will get wages, and taxes will be paid. But I do agree that everyone has the right to an opinion, no matter whether I agree with it or not, and I'm sure that women will get their turn on top.
