| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi all, I think my origin comment on the particular venue has taken a bit of a turn, I will try and clear it up a bit. The particular venue is extremely busy and if you do not put your name down for a song say half an hour before the gig starts you may not get to sing at all.
I was at a different venue and know that a particular person called through to the busy venue after the show started and put their name down as well as others. These people sang at least two songs at the not so busy venue then left for the busy venue, I followed not so long after. This place was packed to the rafters so to speak, we are looking at hundreds of people here, and low and behold, the singers I followed were all called up for a song.
So, it is not a case of being at a venue, putting your name down for a song, leaving then coming back later. It is about people calling through, putting their name as well as others down in the singers list, waiting until nearly their allotted time before turning up, then being called up to sing. I know people, me included, who go to this venue putting their name down for a song before the show starts, waiting all evening only to be told, sorry, there is no time left.
