| From the Where2sing.com forum: The numbers that get to this venue are what most operators dream of. I used to frequent this venue before karaoke even started there and yes that is near on 30 years ago and even back then the place was packed of a Saturday night.
There is one venue that is no more than about 700m away as the crow flys and that is where some of the singers go to first and then ring through.
LB, this particular venue would be imposible to know where all the singers are because of the sheer volume of bodies in the area where the karaoke is. One of the reasons singers go away and then come back later is because they know the approx time they are to sing. If the host did not advise the singers the approx time they were to sing the situation would probably be reduced and those that did leave the venue would run the risk of loosing their spot when their name was called.
Personally what I think is wrong is taking singers names down 2 hours before the show is to start, in my situation, the earliest I could get there during the week (on the quieter night) would be 7:15pm, 15 minutes before the show started. The night I went there I was told I probably would not get a song because the singers list was full and when I looked around there were 25 people at most in the area where the karaoke was.
