Whenever you create something, whether it's something written down or spoken, there is an automatic assigning of copyright. Those little c inside the circle symbols you see everywhere has to do with the process of proving copyright in the instance of a legal challenge.
So technically, a karaoke performance has the following copyrights assigned:
1) The music
2) The lyrics
3) The performance of the music
4) The creation of the lyrics on the screen
5) The performance of the singer in the venue.
To the strict letter of the law, one has to receive permission from those five copyright holders before posting clips of karaoke clips online.
But, eh... what are you gonna do? lol
