MB ...due to some failing interconnects within my rigs wiring (Hard Wired) I spent much of my day yesterday rewiring (in a very hot shed).....I took my EQU out of the chain,,,and rewired in parallel and ran in mono instead of stereo....sound was great and its become clear that you don't need stereo for a good karaoke sound ..... BTW the sensitivity adjustments on my amps are never adjusted to more than 70-75% depending on the sensitivity of speaker input....if you check the speaker spec ...the more sensitive the input of the speaker the louder it will go at lower drive levels......sensitivity input figures of 97,98 db is average for most speakers... input sensitivity levels of 100+ db is reserved for top of the range and more expensive speakers whilst 96db sensitivity is for cheap speakers...the above of course only applies to passive speakers...although basically... the same is true for active speakers

As far as set up goes...we (where possible) set up on stage or as close as possible to the left of it ... i.e. with the singer...Sub Woofer...Fold back and TV monitor to the left of me...as LB said ..to avoid overly long leads...and I insist on being able to hear what my singers hears via the fold back...the reason SO many karaoke have such bad sound ..is that the operator just cannot hear what it is the singer nor the audience is hearing...and as such doesnt have a hope of creating a half reasonable mix

I love Radio Mics however I use corded for the singers to prevent unexpected walkabouts by some singers
