We don't mind, I do let them know if we have the same disc and then they normally will use that in the future. But there are times are versions are different to what they have practised at home.
Occassionally still get the odd copied discs brought in, but have found a polite no, is sufficient for them not to bring them in again.
Have found some singers bring in their own collections in a case and we go thru the case and if we find anything we don't like ,ask them to remove it and only give us the correct cds that they wish to sing from as I explain to them that we are not prepared to keep the case in our possession.
In most cases, I am always learning of new songs or singers, from people bringing in their own discs, as each may have a favorite artist that they like to sing and even though we may have this artist in our song list, we quite often don't have the song they want, even with our list being large.
NSW people might know of Kiwi Harry, he is back in Vic and sang some beautiful songs the other night, from the artist Prince Tiu Teke (spelling) I have never heard of him before, so would not even have a clue to purchase his songs.
Most of our singers bring their discs with their names on, but for the ones that don't either ask them to in future or stick a piece of paper in the cover with their names on.
