| From the Where2sing.com forum: Can i be so bold to say i think i've found the WORST karaoke venue in Qld?? It's the SARS club at Surfers Paradise where you can expect to wait up to 5 hours to get up to sing....is this a record? FEEDBACK PLEASE!!!!! The host is absolutely awful, sings to HIS hearts content, and leans so very much towards his regulars. A great place to get drunk though with cheap drinks while you wait!!
On the other hand i must definitely recommend McGinteys Irish bar at Broadbeach. The hostess was teriffic, the crowd were jumping and i got 7 songs in the space of 3 hours even though there were many singers. This hostess was very professional and organised. The sound system was fantastic and the pub itself was really nice.
Anyone who's out that way, or passing through on a Saturday night should definitely go here. You're made to feel so welcome, and the hostess does not sing, does not talk too much....... leaving the night open for all us karaoke singers. McGinteys rocks and is definitely one of the best venues i've ever been to.
On a different note can i also add that all the 'action' seems to be down South. Nothing exciting ever seems to happen in Qld...well not to my knowledge?? You guys down there use karaoke towards good causes to raise funds for people in need of some help etc which i think is a teriffic idea. It's a 'win,win' situation! Well done, and good luck to all the organisers. I hope you go above your goals and raise heaps. :)
