I could have written from my own perspective that I always have a good time there, the sound is absolutely reliable to the point where I don't think about it but just enjoy it, the audience is appreciative and the host is always supportive, that it's great to sing in front of a complete auditorium of people, and that there's no need to worry about whether it's on because it always is.
But that was not the point of the feature story, and there are some karaoke singers who judge a venue based on the number of times that they can sing, regardless of whether there are only 3 other people there.
I want people to see the outstanding success of your hosting and management of Chatswood RSL venue, and understand that sitting glued in the #1 spot of the National Top 10 Karaoke Venues is not necessarily all about building the biggest songlist (though I do love the size of your songlist, especially your Van Morrison), perfect sound (though I do love the clarity, roundless and predicability of your sound), hosting style, or venue. But that it is all about shaping these elements to your audience, keeping them coming back, attracting new people and keeping those coming back - but most of all the benefit that promoting W2S to your regulars can have in getting your venue into a position where Subscribers and non-subscribers alike have your venue always in their face.
Regardless of the number of people a host sends to W2S, a sub-standard karaoke night will still not gain their votes (I think some hosts would be surprised that those they consider loyal singer have voted for some other venue), and so it is without question that the #1 spot is held by Chatswood RSL for all the right reasons - as well as your public promotion of W2S.
I also note that Chatswood RSL has gained the vote of some singers who I think are only there ocasionally - and that seems to say a lot as well.
P.S. Can anyone tell who the figure is up on the dance floor in the pic accompanying the feature story?
