From the Where2sing.com forum:

cathryn: hehe, a karaoke tragic. I thought karaoke was merely an excuse to pick one venue over another. But once there, enjoy it socially, mix and generally make mayham. Perhapes this is why I prefer places that have small but well-choosen songbooks - less pages to turn until you find something that inspires you and you can get back to yarning quicker :)

Me? I couldn't find a Saturday karaoke that appealed so I went to see a U2 cover band and had a ball of a time.

Sunday afternoon Karaoke? There is the Covent Garden (small list, grumpy chinamen, good sound) and Scruffy Murphy's (small but good list, lotsa backpackers and drag queens). I like Scrruffys 'cause they have $5 steak and although the karaoke would be repulsive to a tragic it usually is a highly entertaining night. And this is really all I'm looking for. The sound is wokeful but if you know how to sing you'll sound great anyway.
