Hi David, that pic of the equipment was wonderful. Kerbside cleanup no doubt? KK: The woman running it at the Prince of Wales Hotel Nundah ate chinese food way over starting time, had these speakers sitting on the tables, never mixed anyone in or out and the singers were in the dark behind some potplants while most of the room was focussed on the TAB screens. What atmosphere, what an arena to encourage talent, what a nightmare. I have been singing for about eighteen months and love it. Have ordered my own discs, one from Capital and one from Sunfly. It would be good to have some more information somewhere down the track on singers experiences getting their songs on one disc and the quality etc. I used to like Sunfly, but think there are equal or better brands. Cheers

Indeed, there was that pile of junk out on the kerb as I was driving in Brisbane, and the caption for it and the association with Krazy Kathy was too good to miss. I agree that hosts who don't make their singers the centre of entertainment are missing a vital part of karaoke. There's a venue in the centre of Sydney that has singers absolutely in the dark, and right in front of a bank of monitors, so much so that they are seen only in sillouette - and I'm sure that this is directly responsible for reducing their patronage to less than half what it could be.
