David Your article in no way was constructive in its criticism!!!! You were destructive in the extreme!!! I do stand wherever i feel i can get a good read of my patrons moods in the venue and if this constitutes socialising in your view then i can only assume that this unsmiling manager was actually smiling to give you that impression. The impression you gave me on arrival was one of a traveller who photographs the places he has visited, the fact you have gone to print with a review of my performance as a manager without reference to me is disturbing in the extreme. The ability of your comments to damage my reputation concerns me. I have no idea of your experience in hotel/venue management but i do refute your comments regarding myself. Your comments about the host and my patrons i also take exception too. We are a very popular venue the patrons enjoy a wide range of entertainment options and we run a successful safe venue. The area we operate in demands constant attention and indeed the law demands just that!!!! I am not stupid David and your condescending comment about my possible lack of knowledge of body language i will choose to treat with the contempt it deserves!!! I am extremely happy with the way we present our public image David as i said our patrons appreciate the time and effort we put in to make our venue possibly the safest in our area!! Shame you didnt take the time to actually talk to a few more. Then i guess you wouldnt have got the result for which you were searching. David your attitude as displayed in your article convinces me that this is all a pointless exercise as you will now turn my concerns into another attack on me either on the website on in some other public forum. Responsibility for the power of the written word is an oft overlooked aspect of our society and the amendments you made to the original article displayed your contempt for my concerns at your implication that i drank acohol whilst on duty. My professional conduct and reputation i hold very close, you sir, have been irresponsible, inaccurate and plain bloody minded.

REPLY from David
Whilst I thank you for your latest response, I do agree with you that it seems futile to engage in a debate on the merits of your venue in a wide range of areas such as safety and attendance on other days. As I mentioned, I liked your venue. But I was there to review your karaoke. If you choose not to smile when greeting a customer at the front door then that is your prerogative, as is mine to report the event in my review should it have some bearing on the subject - as indeed it did. For what it's worth, I think that your standing at the table right in front of the karaoke, but facing the audience and not participating in any applause of singers does not help the ambience - but you have, as you correctly point out, the right to stand and act exactly as you please. As you are suggesting that you have an understanding of body language and positioning, I'll presume that you wish to convey a confrontational impression to your patrons. I have not implied that you were drinking alcohol, and have clarified this in an update to the article by including the very words you used so that I cannot be misinterpreting you. If you wish me to change the words in this bracketed section to something else, please do let me know and I'll happily do so. I think, however, that you may have missed the point of the review.
