After reading this email, it appauls me to read what some of the KARAOKE singers are saying about some of these venues.
Performers in a Talent Quest should remember that these venues are there for the purpose of letting performers gain experience of performing in front of a live audience, gaining microphone technique and basicaly learning their craft and not for the purpose of having smoke machines, great lighting, bad food etc....
Maybe they should all take a good look at themselves because most karaoke singers that I have experienced really need to learn these skills as well as dress presentation.

Are you sure that the motivaton of venues is principally to promote exposure of singers, and not to provideentertainment that produces a profit for the venue? I don't think the venue in question was running any kind of talent quest, just normal open karaoke - and by all accounts a fairly poor attempt.
I do agree with you that singers should remember that karaoke is included in the price of their drinks, and be appreciative of any opportunity to sing, and indeed remember that karaoke is intended as an amateur event. But it's important that the W2S comments truly reflect what people think about particular karaokes - it's a website for people who lov e their karaoke, not, for example, a general newspaper article.
But if you have been to the venue in question and disagree with the previous comments, the answer is to add your own comments to this listing...
