My my the claws have been out of late, haven't they? I always miss the good stuff!!
Gold Coast Girl...
I am not sure you have understood the way this forum works. Are you internet savvy? Internet forums are where people merely express their ideas and nothing more. It's up to them what they post and if they wish to interact with others. No one here claimed to be an expert and your remarks about them as such and referring to many others as 'try hards' despite your claimed views on what is 'insulting' I thought were unwarranted. Oh and by the way, dear, when it's in written form, it's 'libel' not 'slander' (that's verbal).
For what it's worth, I am a singer/song writer with his own website who's been offered recording contracts, appeared on national and local television, performed in 2 bands, starred on stage in several musicals even at prestigious venues including the Sydney Opera House and have a song I am about to submit to a major motion picture franchise through one of MY contacts who hobnobs with multi-billionaires and multi-millionaires (in Pounds Sterling, mind) and is on good terms with a little film director you may have heard of called Steven Spielberg, yet I enjoy karaoke for the fun of it. I used to do the comps whenever I could find them back when I needed the money and have qualified for national grand finals 3 times as well as won or placed in several others. End of pi**ing contest (I'm sure I win) and yes, I was completely honest in all those remarks but I'm not here to brag, just thought it was necessary to show you you have zero idea of who ANY of us are and should reserve your opinions before making any libelious comments yourself.
Now, enough with the big noting yourself as super important and putting others down over nothing more than a difference of opinion. Did we see YOU at the Sydney Olympics opening ceremony? Did we see YOU sharing the stage with Pavarotti? If we did, would we recognize you or were you merely one of the nameless faces in the crowd? You seem to claim to be a defender of decency and yet you have been nothing but indecent in your posts here. Bad, Gold Coast Girl. Very bad.
As for not recommending the site to people; if any of them are interested in attending karaoke, you do them a great disservice by not doing so as nowhere else will they find a more comprehensive listing of venues in Australia alone nor the chance to socialize with other karaoke goers or karaokers as I call them, from across the country and in some cases, overseas.
FYI, I'm not affiliated with this site so my comments are simply my own opinions. My subscription was only finalized today but I don't think I'll land any great karaoke deals for simply doing my part in defending the site to the likes of you especially since it needn't be defended.
As a professional entertainer, you certainly don't present yourself very professionally here. Just an observation. Perhaps you ought to reconsider that 'professionalism' is more than simply earning a quid from something. Even menial workers would rate as 'professional' if you only looked at it from the financial side. Be courteous and control your emotions if you want to go far 'professionally' or even in life in general. That's my advice.
I hope you find something FAR more worthwhile to occupy your time with instead of swapping barbs with complete strangers. Before you think me guilty of the same, I wasn't doing this to argue with you, merely to help you become a better person and hoping to set an example which I think IS a worthwhile endeavour.
Of course, I could have summarized all this into, 'Oh grow up!' but somehow, I don't think that would have done the thoughts justice...
