Well golly gee, ain't this something. Whilst I have no specific issue with David, he's provided a good service in his website and it goes without saying that he's made a significant and visible contribution to the industry. Though I stand by what I said earlier about the risk he takes with some of the wording of his comments. I also tend to disagree with GCG's vehemence. But I can also say that a number of the other posters on this particular forum are not showing themselves to be any better.

Chuck, you started of well raising the point aobut the fundraiser, but you flipped over to the darkside when you decided to denigrate Queenslanders in general. If you have an issue with GCG, leave it with her. Please spare the rest of us your vitriolic.

Johnny B, well, all I can say is that you and GCG should get togerher. You're both so amazing in your contacts and abilities, you could be the next Sonny and Cher. Rob Deal, I don't know you or your posting style, but you don't seem to add much more value to the forum that GCG.

I'm thinking the only real solution to this problem at this point is for David to simply moderate and delete any further references to this topic by those people who have turned it into such a war zone. The forum would be good for someone to simply come on and say something like 'Hey man, I think your review was harsh, perhaps you've made an error of judgment' and leave it at that.

Once all this tit for tat crap starts, it goes on and on, and the value of the forum becomes nil. I for one can actually give David credit for introducing me to Karaoke as it was his website that I went to when I wanted to find out where the nearest Karaoke venue was and when it was on.

However, in spite of any good intentions, or lack thereof, David isn't all-seeing and/or all-powerful. He is subject to the same human foibles and weaknesses as the rest of us. As he himself correctly stated in one of his posts, the people who should be raising issues with him are the people affected. He basically accused, IMHO based on my interpretation of the review, a barman of attempting to feloniously acquire money from David that belonged to David, e.g. the short-changing attempt. In this case, one would logically surmise that the only person who is entitled to take David to task for that comment would be the barman himself.

So, in closing, I make one humble plea for all this tripe to stop and let this forum be used for the purpose of which it was intended, the provision of and sharing of karaoke related information and not all this other waste of time. From this point forward I'd recommend that if you don't like what someone has said, simply ignore it.
