| From the Where2sing.com forum: Re subscriptions...
At risk of being pelted with rancid tomatoes, I'm gonna support David on this one. At first, I too thought maybe it's a question of one or the other - a night out or a subscription but the flaw with THAT is, we're talking, for example, US$19.95 / A$26.50 over THREE months. I find it hard to believe that anyone who supports karaoke shows and visits this site often enough to check out gigs etc, would spend LESS than that on karaoke (and getting to the venues [& home again] in the first place) in that period of time. So, let's say they do have to sacrifice ONE night out in order to subscribe. They still have the rest of the 3 months to have fun and get their money's worth from the site.
The 'casual' visitors may only visit for certain things now but I'm sure when given access to the other perks of being a subscriber, they'd check out other parts of the site also. I do!
Given the site's purpose of the promotion of karaoke gigs and all the work and research that goes into this site, I agree that it is a small amount to pay when the amount of time a subscription fee covers is considered. I think it's money well spent, personally.
