From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hey guys,
Thought I would add a little to the subscription debate. I too have had quite a few people say to me that it is 'too hard' to use the site since V2 of the W2S.
Having said that I don't think a short term sub would help.
Thats because it is not always about the money, most of these people just want their information now.
One of the key rules to gaining a high traffic website is to keep all information within 3 clicks (2 if you can help it)
Maybe Dave could right a little script where once a week an IP address is able to access the gig listings by going through an ad portal.
This way newbies or poor people get to view the listings one time per week (maybe just for that days listings) without subscribing or even registering and depending on what state they are in they would see an ad for a venue in their area.
This ad would pay for the service and if the newbies come to rely upon the list they would obviously grow tired of their limited search and access capabilities, and subscribe!
Anyway thats my 2 cents...
On another note, Tunde, (her lovely baby bump) and I are finnaly heading off to Chatty RSL for the first time EVER!
WIth the amount of times I have told Gaz I would come and not, the poor old fella's gonna have a heart attack when I walk through the door!
Hope to see some familiar faces down there tonight.
Cheers,
Rob.
P.S. Its a GIRL!! due in September :)
