For your information Karaoke is all about having fun.
Yes some people do take it seriously and other just want to have fun.
Karaoke is the ability of all types of singers to “Have a go” the good the bad and the ugly.
My saying is that everyone can sing it’s just that some sing differently to others.
By your own statement you have started taking it seriously too “i wasnt very inpressed by the tall lady and the big guy someone has to tell them they need singing lessons as they thought they were good but in my opinion they were lacking”
So who cares if someone doesn’t sound great at Karaoke, because it’s about fun and having a go with your own 5 minutes of stardom.
If people only want excellent singers to sing at Karaoke then they should instead go to the talent quests run by venues and don’t go Karaoke.
Several weeks ago we had TV1 come along and film one of our singers for a show they were doing regarding Karaoke.
A singer was up singing (out of key and not in time with the music) when I was asked by the Producer what I thought about his singing.
My answer was very simple “this is what Karaoke is all about people having fun and enjoying their 5 minutes of fame”.
