| From the Where2sing.com forum: True Mr Rovics it does sometimes come down to 1 person at a venue making all the decisions & if that person doesn't like karaoke in the first place, you can be behind the 8 ball from the start...But as i said if the venue is not happy with the host, communicate first to give that host a chance to pick their act up, but if they are happy with present host surely they would go to the host & say we have been approached by another operator can you match their price...It is true some do have the gift of the gab offering the stars but in the end are no better than what was there in the first place, then there is the regulars to consider...alot will get their noses out of joint with change for no apparent reason...So i guess it comes down to the situation and without knowing all the facts it's hard to pass judgement, just try to learn from it to make sure it doesn't happen to your own gigs...How do you educate venues as to how the karaoke industry works the good & the bad that is the question???
