| From the Where2sing.com forum: Howdy fellow Karaokettes . This is my 1st time on a karaoke chat room .So go easy on me . I love all the banter about differant operators,singers ( I call them performers )and venue operators . I am amazed to see the industry grow , with more and more venues
putting Karaoke on and the amount of PERFORMERS attending .When I started (1989)the venues use to say KARA !!!! WHAT !
our patrons on stage huh it will never happen . Good on You Performers for showing them . And good on you Venue Managers for booking them .I also have heard alot of feedback from Long Time Karaoke Operators and performers commenting on the benifits of WHERE TO SING and simular sites. Some operators including myself have been slagged on where to sing which amazed me as no one from WHERE TO SING
approached me at the venue ! But I LIKED THE FEEDBACK ( main prob not enough songs,So I bought some more ) I felt the DOBBERS or feedback suppliers to WHERE TO SING do not have enough experience to be a judge .If thay do ! tell us what experience .
I will becoming along term chatter on this forum in the future . Especially on Queensland Perfrormers ands venues .
I did Karaoke for over 10 Years straight ( Same Compere )at the Coolangatta Hotel ( 300 to 500 Every Sunday ) and not one comment on where to sing . Please don't think im knocking where to sing . I think David is a legend for A) Putting the site up and B) for liasing with us crazy freaky Karaoke Operators and performers . I currently work in commercial radio ( QLD ) and would like some thoughts on a idea im putting together .
RADIO IDOL - In the past (50's,60's+70's )performers had to record for radio + perform live to gain maximum exposure .UGLY MUSOS MADE IT BACK THEN ! .Like JOK ,Buddy HOlly,ROy orbison ETC . Australian Idol is all the Pretty Boys and Girls ( except for Casey Donovan ) So imagine a Idol Comp wich is AUDIO ONLY ( on the radio ) Youhave to hear the VOICE and the Song and not be impreesed by there looks . After doing Karaoke for over 15 Years I beleive we have some really good talent out in our Australian Karaoke Bars . And RADIO IDOL might just change the Record Companies and RAdio Station Program Directors to take note
