For anyone that has judged before they will know how difficult it can be.
I remember one judge once saying that it can come down in the end to a personal liking of a song.
When I have run Karaoke Competitions I have stuck to the same format for each comp.
The format was quite simple and effective.
Scores were given in three categories.
1…Singing ability
2…Presentation/dress
3…Crowd response.
All singers and audience alike were told of how the scoring would work before the singers sang.
This seemed to work for us during heats and in Finals the judges were also told how the scoring would work.
