Hi Catman....Having done this a few times ( age care homes & a like ) , the one thing i would say is this , ' Low Volume' is the go here ,in fact no Micophone ( or down very low including the backing music ) is possibly the way to go as the poor dears get quite scared of noise which is louder the T.V , also the songs that go down well are songs from the 30' , 40's & 50's and they certainly love the sing-a-long stuff especially from the war (2nd ) years but you must lead the way with all songs and you will find that they join-in as the song gets going , there is one set of discs that i have and the set is called ' the nostaliga years ' there is a 100 songs and each song is just perfect for this type of thing , i've used it many times for these shows and for other shows where the age group is interested i.e 50's and onwards parties etc., they are great discs , but you must learn the songs ( or those coming with you ) as like i said they very much need to be lead into all songs...
