| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi all I have purposely stayed off the chat forum for a day or so to see if the idea of doing a show at the Westmead Children’s Hospital had some validity.
Rob thanks for the offer of equipment but for the first one I will be supplying the equipment etc.
As I indicated earlier that it will also be a pay back from me to Westmead and it’s something that I have wanted to do for a while now and something I feel very passionate about.
If this is a success then perhaps it could be done on a regular basis (say once every 2/3 months) with different Hosts each time offering their equipment and services and getting other Karaoke people there to help.
The idea of nursing or retirement homes is also a worthy consideration of a way the Karaoke Industry can help in the community.
The only concern that I have in relation to Nursing or Retirement Homes is that I believe there is already a Person that does visit homes and charges people I think $5 a head for such a show with tea and scones thrown in for morning tea.
I don’t think we would be stepping on toes so to speak but I thought I would raise it here to see if anyone else had heard of this.
Pat and Ray, Barri Tone, Roz and last but not least Mic Rophone thanks for the support shown here and the willingness to help (as well as Rob Deal that I mentioned previously).
I will be going to Westmead shortly and will be speaking to the Head Neurologist ( who has looked after my wife for just on 20 years) to see how, when and why.
I will post the answers on here as soon as I get them.
As far as your suggestion Mic about a get together I think it is a great idea.
Through this meeting we should all start moving in the right direction.
