| From the Where2sing.com forum: David, perhaps I can attempt to give some perspective to those grumblers out there who want everything for free. I am employed by a large independent school and I have just introduced a web-linked Business Directory to the community @ a subscription cost ranging up to $330 per year dependent on levels of benefit ie basic info @ $220, web link to their site/web address $275 and all of the above with color logo and additional information @ $330. You charge a mere $68.95 for a year for the whole box and dice and those in the karaoke world have the benefit as a business owner of working the listing to appeal to the viewer, and as singers, to get something for free or choose to pay a token sum for the full benefit of this comprehensive site.
I also access schoolfriends.com (SA based) and am welcome to check in and out to catch up with news and receive updates of newcomers etc for free - however if I wish to communicate/find lost friends by text or email, I pay $50 a year to get that priveledge and have gladly subscribed because I have found friends I would never otherwise have found! C'mon karaoke enthusiasts, you can have your cake but if you want the icing, be prepared to pay up. Good on ya David, you have proved yourself an astute business man who deserves to be remunerated by not only karaoke operators who, through this site, have a window to the world for so little cost, but by the singers who expect nothing less than the best from your site. Your input is tireless and your enthusiasm for assisting people is worth paying for. You have established by this investment of time, not only the credibility of yourself but everybody who chooses to simply browse or align with W2S.com. Whether you choose to browse of choose to pay - there is something for everyone. What a priveledge!
