From the Where2sing.com forum:

“SHOULD A KARAOKE HOST BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN A KARAOKE COMPETITION?”
Its KARAOKE IDOL time down here in Vic and I have been asked the question again.
I do hope to keep this topic constructive NOT destructive
I have my own views on this topic and would welcome others.
It is, and always has been been my opinion that a Karaoke host is not a professional singer and I do not get PAID to sing I get paid to HOST KARAOKE.
I personally, would NOT enter other companies Karaoke Competition. I may sing at one as a punter, but not compete. This is not directed at anyone in particular and I am not trying to offend anyone

As I said I would value any HOSTS or even singers opinions on this topic.

And there are the Gig Reviews, the constantly updated 'National Top 10 Karaoke Venues' chart, specialised lists of venues for Under 18s and currently running Competitions, lists for karaoke rooms, restaurants, karaoke hosts and supplliers, and karaoke news from all around the workd.

Of course, the best way to keep up to date is by opting in for the FREE weekly Karaoke News Email.
