From the Where2sing.com forum:

My opinion as a karaoke singer who has been in a few comps myself ,is yes you should be allowed to enter in competition.
What I do object to is the obviouse profesionally trained singers who enter and win all the comps, they appear for only enough nights to get in, then dont appear again till the grand final ,they dont support either the karaoke show or the venue where ever its being held at.
These people really annoy me.I've seen shows where the rules are that as a karaoke comp you must'nt take your eyes off the monitor and other shows have been like a cabaret where the singers disapear into the audience leaving the stage empty because this is supposed to look professional but they forget it IS supposed to be karaoke ,which is reading the words from the monitor. The average karaoke singer does'nt stand a chance against these kind of professional performers. But as a host I think you should be allowed to enter comps.
