I've never noticed a high proportion of wannabees. The majority of regulars seem to have no musical ambitions beyond recreational. Some, on the other hand, are 'used to bee's' given that they were at one time professional singers. Indeed, I've met quite a few who are currently employed at least casually as professional singers. Let's face it, the music market is highly saturated with performers so, like actors and sportspersons, even pro-level singers have day jobs and have to settle for casual gigs. I feel the forum is intended more at the recreational singer and raising the overall standard so our experience most of the evening as an audience is improved. I must say that I have seen some vast improvements over time with many regulars. They've added songs and refined those already done. To me, this shows that the forum and its educational approach is a worthwhile cause.
