| From the Where2sing.com forum: James T.......I've considered getting a vaccination , but you know , those things can be a real pain in the arse !!! It's a topic that's been raised before , & we had a couple of suggestions alternate to a rear end jab !! I've tried to bring my own microphone (appologies to MicRophone) , although carrying a microphone down the front pocket of your jeans can raise serious questions in the minds of some of the other singers , about just how much enjoyment you're getting out of Karaoke !!?! , and I had extreme difficulty convincing a rather determined elderly lady , that she WASN'T coming home with me(even after she showed me her dentures were removable !!) Another was to bring your own wind sock , (foam cover) cleverly renamed a 'songdom' by MicRophone himself (who never travels in anyone's pocket !!).
As to whose responsibility it should be to get vaccinated , well , a host can always use a seperate mic. & I think it's far more likely , by weight of numbers alone , that singers will spread it (the 'flu I mean !!) How can you convice them to get a 'shot' ? Perhaps you could employ a voluptuous panel techie , wearing a nurses uniform & stillettos, holding a whip in one hand & a needle in the other , then hang a sign over the desk saying 'get yours here' . Being the 21st century , I think most of the girls would line up too !!
