In answer to your assertion (and that of 'Robert AKA not a host') that Gary Str8up is a nice guy is quite possibly correct (I do believe from others that he is). The current issue is not about that, but rather about his choosing (rather unwisely) to promote and link Karaokegoss.com with a website hosting the database pirated from W2S - and in that regard, how 'nice' is a guy really when he does something like this? Be assured that he wasn't doing this as a 'community service', but rather to promote his website at the expense of W2S.
'Robert AKA not a host'.... do you really think that Gavin and Gary Str8up of karaokegoss.com had no idea that a previously unheard of website suddenly now boasting a complete karaoke database that
- looked like the W2S database
- had the same quantity of total gigs as the W2S database
- had the same quantity of gigs in each of the states as the W2S database
- had the same details included, and missing, as in the W2S database
- had identical abbreviations of addresses as in the W2S database
could be anything other than a pirated copy of the W2S database?
Of course not - they just didn't think that W2S would dare to publicly name and shame them.
And now that this has happened, they're running for cover rather than apologising for trying to rip-off yet another part of W2S. If this is your idea of 'nicest and fairest people', I think you have yet to mix with the honest folk on these W2S forums...
