| From the Where2sing.com forum: I have been watching proceedings here for a couple of days now and what never ceases to facinate me is how so many of us.... in true tribal fashion.... will seek to distort the truth..twist undeniable facts and in some cases blatantly lie..... in what is often a very inane and pointless attempt to maintain ones dignity after having been discovered with ones hand in the 'cookie jar'..and I guess to that extent I am little different to anyone else and certainly do not perceive myself as being 'holyier than thou'......
However......the facts are clear....and anyone with an ounce of business ethics and/or personal scruples would admit ...apologise and retract.......Does David Kenward have cause to be upset at someone blatantly 'stealing' 3 years of hard work in building and maintaining W2S ??.....If we cant answer that for ourselves then there is little hope for redemption.
Surely the owner of ANY website has a responsibility and indeed an obligation to remain in control of that website and monitor just what it is that website is being used for and for what purpose.It doesnt take a rocket scientist to work out that the webmaster of the website in question had unashamedly lost control of its content and purpose a long time ago and it was being blatantly being manipulated.. used and abused.
Some 2 years ago now.... when I was attempting to build my own very first Karaoke website..David Kenward was good enough to freely give advice and assistance where he could.. given the distance between us....and in that regard.... and using his very considerable business and marketing skills.... he authored a number of 'mission' statements for me to include on my website ..which I did.
Some months later I happened upon another Brisbane Karaoke Site 'Stars on Stage' (which is still up BTW) which just happened to be authored by the same webmaster and on the same domain as the website in question......to my surprise.... copied on this website....almost verbatim....were the mission statements as written by DAVID for ME ...bold as brass!!.......coincidence or plagiarsm ??...you be the judge!!
ROVICS KARAOKE has also had to suffer the indignation of being used.... abused ..manipulated and then thrown on the scrap heap when of no longer use by the website in question..... by what can only be described as infantile and divisive behaviour by some..... fortunately the above behaviour has had little affect on us.... and ROVICS Karaoke remains as strong as ever!!.....For the owners of this other Karaoke website to now take the high road and hold it up as some sort of iconic and valuable... free public service does NOT free the owner of his reponsibilities and obligations.....and playing the victim does NOT excuse foolishness.
Finally... the inane attempt by the owners and webmaster of the singing.com.au website.... in a desperate attempt retain and salvage some credibility by highlighting what basically are cosmetic and technical differences in the 2 Karaoke databases is absurd in the extreme.
