| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi coffeeandtimtams: The Samford has gone through a bit of a transformation of late........Originally when we started.... we had a huge audience of locals+ yobbos +regular Rovics Followers....with the onset of winter and being dark and cold so early .....many Rovics regulars found it too far to go and too cold etc ..etc ...that will probably again change in summer.........they used to have a 'Happy Hour' from 8-9pm...which suited all of the 'yobbos' .......however the first few months of us being at Samford resulted in an end of night brawl (sometimes a Middle of night brawl)almost every week and was very scary.....Samford management took steps to rectify that situation by removing the happy hour....increasing drink prices...and providing better security.
It has worked...because we are finding that now 'better Quality' audiences are coming ...and even though sometimes we can have an audience of up to 80-100ppl....we are currently often short on singers (adult) .Fortunately the Yobbo 'Thongs and Caps on Backward brigade' are in the main staying away and things are considerably better in that respect.
Kids are welcome to sing till 10pm and we do have quite a few that come week in and week out
