I can't understand why venues hold off starting a gig because of a perceived ' lack of singers ' What the !?!?.......It's a Karaoke night !! There's always 1 or 2 serious / regular singers there to start the night & a host should always be looking for a way to reward those singers who are there early with an extra song or two. Far too often , hosts / operaters will let someone who walks in an hour or moreafter the start of a gig do just as many songs as someone who's there before the night starts , supporting the venue with 'real' money. In fact , a similar situation happened at Cumberland on saturday night . For some reason , the family Karaoke night didn't kick off until close to 8 o'clock , despite HEAPS of singers all signed up & ready to go ! Maybe I should check the starting time , 'though I thought it was 7pm
RE the KWC.......did I read it right that state winners had to pay their own way to the finals this year ? , or am I mistaken there ?
