With the amount of 'spam' mail that is around, it is very easy to accidentally put someone's name into the 'block senders' list. This could be what has happened with you and why you can't receive David's receive David's e-mails.
Try having a look at your 'block senders' list. On your e-mail, go into click onto 'messages' on the top line and go to 'block senders' and see if david's name and e-mail address are there. If they are, click on them and then go to 'remove', that will take his name out of the 'block senders' list. Then when David sends out his e-mails, they will automatically come into your 'In' box.
This is just a suggestion, but I hope it is of some help.
