If we're going to go down this path, I reckon we go the whole hog. Ideally, I want to know what time I have to be at which bus stop or train station in order to get to the venue before the gig start time.
So... If I decided I wanted to go out to Kev's gig at Peakhurst, it would tell me what time the train leaves Central to get into Riverwood Station, giving me enough time to walk the 20 min required to get there before the scheduled start time. Return trips after the scheduled finish time (or last trip back) would also be of help. This is the kind of stuff I look up on 131500.com.au before going out to a new venue... REPLY from David
I'm wondering whether there is any service that I could tap into that would provide the information that you want - if you can do it manually, then I should be able to send the info automatically.
For example, you should be able to enter your origin once on W2S, and for it to submit that. W2S already knows the venue address, so it can send that, and it often knows the start and finish times so it could send that as 'arrival' and 'departure' times.
So, can you easily find the info you want from 131500.com.au at present - because it would take me a bit of time to code this up?
Alternatively, what about W2S sends the information to your local GPS controlled taxi company, they come around and wake you up at the right time, provide a dresser and makeup artist to get you ready, then a bottle of champagne and a singing coach for the journey, and W2S sends them another automatic call at the end of the night to come and bring you home again? And the best part - the limousine fare is included in your W2S Subscription?
