| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hey all..back from the band club tonight and just been reading over what the boys have been writing. I was in the comp at CCC last year ( my first ever ) and suprised myself...I have a better idea of how to broach how i want to go forward with things this year if i enter. I have songs that I can show the power of my voice ( last year they called me the LITTLE LADY WITH THE BIG LUNGS )...lol...and ones that i can do well and that show a variety of my vocals. As for changing costumes i tried that and failed miserabley but i still had a brilliant time and made it to Grand Finals. Legs my advice my sweet is go with what YOU WANT...know what appeals to you first and then make changes from there if u feel u have too... I have narrowed my song list to 10 songs that i know i can do really well and i have it in my mind how i want to present them...Its all about ur enjoyment as much as the enjoyment of the audience..No offense to any judges who read this...But if i sit here thinking ' what shall i sing..what will i wear and how will they score me ' it kinda takes the enjoyment out of it and adds an element of ' fretting ' for me...The Judges last year were nice enuff and i had a great time with the support of great people around...thats the other thing..having people around who love u for u and no matter how u do on the night they still will think ur a ' champion' anyways!!!....I couldnt have gottewn as far as i did last year because of my nerve and performing on stage factor if it handed been for my ' friends ' who let me know they were here for me and they loved me and i was a ' WINNER' in their eyes regardless....Anyways all..thats my 2cents worth...to all those enterering comps....Sing from your hearts..No matter how u feel it sounds..As long as u enjoy it, thats the big thing..Karaoke is all about fun...The day I take it all too seriously is the day i stop singing...So long as i make people smile and think ' that was lovely '..then im happy...Night all...Cheers always..TANIA
