I didn't take any offence to your remarks, I didn't seen anything offensive in what you said!! Yes, E-bay is a good way (apparently) to buy fashionable clothes (so 'Legs' and 'A song to sing from my heart' tell me). I haven't purchased anything from there. A lot of the bigger stores have sections that cater for the 'plus size' lady.
There are times that I think that some karaoke talent contests are taken way too seriously. What ever happened to karaoke being fun? I can remember one 'lady' (I will use that term loosely when referring to this person) who thought she was going to win the competition at CCC a few years ago and didn't, she ended up with the 'Encouragement Award' if I remember rightly. Oh dear, you should have seen her, she made a big fuss about herself while in the Ladies Room getting ready, no one else mattered, it was just HER!! She could sing, yes I will give her that much, but in my mind, she could not perform, that is why she didn't win. The club was absolutely packed that night and I can remember that she bought in her whole family (and there were a lot of them) and the look on her face when she was announced as the winner of the 'Encouragement Award' was (to me anyway) priceless - talk about a disappointed look. I think that people going into this contest should go in with an open mind, go into it to have a bit of fun and hopefully learn something from the experience. I think that if a person goes into it with the attitude 'well I am the best, no one can beat me' that the person might be in for a rude shock. Depending on who is judging and what the judges are looking for, it is not always the person with the best voice who wins. As for me, I am a realist, I don't have the world's best voice, but if I go into this competition (still undecided on that one) then I will go into it for the fun and to (hopefully) learn from it.
