el barto...
Let me know you're actually game to sing it at Chatty and 'I'm On My Way' Heheheheh. Still peeved I missed the Backstreet Boys session with you and Nanna!! Can hardly believe he went through with it! lol
If we can find a third guy to sing it with us, we could try Rod, Bryan and Sting's 'All For Love' if you're game.
Do you know if anyone's got Charles & Eddy's 'Would I Lie To You' and reckon you'd like to try that one sometime? Haven't heard it in years, so I don't even know if I CAN sing it but thank goodness for sites like YouTube where you can find music clips without needing to download.
I'd suggest Chaka Demus & Pliers' 'Tease Me' or Shaggy's duets of 'Angel' and 'It Wasn't Me' but I sing those ones solo anyway. Of course, if you'd LIKE to sing them, we could. Shaggy's pretty easy for me to sing and I love his weird voice. The Julio / Willie duet, 'To All The Girls I've Loved Before' is another song I do solo but am open to singing as it is meant - a duet.
Haven't sung the George & Elton version of 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' in ages - deliberately! However, with the newfound range, I wouldn't mind giving it another go after all these years.
If the version of James Blundell / James Reyne's 'Working On The Land' I know from the Aussie Hits (or whatever it's called) disc wasn't so atrocious, I'd suggest that one for sure.

Any guys out there who can actually do Elvis justice rather than come off as an Elvis IMPERSONATOR impersonator (not a mis-type) and if you know 'Kissing Cousins,' my karaoke dance card's empty.
I'd love if some guys wanted to sing Boys II Men's 'End Of The Road' with me sometime cos bass harmony's a specialty of mine and it's just not the same singing the high parts of that song with only a couple of bass notes thrown in when possible... Then of course, there's the guy in All 4 One who sounds just like me yet only gets ONE line of three words in the whole of 'I Swear' (that being in the second or third chorus: 'and I swear...') lol. It's funny. It's taken a while to get comfortable listening to myself but I do enjoy hearing THAT guy's voice when I hear it despite the fact our voices are, to my ear, indistinguishable.

Forgot to mention 'Reunited' by Peaches & Herb though I sing that one down the octave from the guy's part. Could do it in the 'proper' register I suppose but my voice sounds better down there for that particular ballad.
Then of course, there's the other duet that's been done to death - Elton & Kiki's 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart' which I do sing in the proper register. Guess I could learn Elton's duet with Leanne Rimes from a couple of years back too if that's more your thing.
OH!!! If anyone's got Prince and the NPG's 'Diamonds & Pearls' I'd LOOOOOOVE to do that one (Fitzy, if you're reading, LEARN that one, would ya?)!! Used to sing that and 'The Best Things In Life Are Free' with a lovely gal called Malaina who was heavily into the R'n'B stuff. Then she went and moved to Qld, silly girl, so gone was my partner for that one. *sniff*

Might try the Rod & Tina version of 'It Takes Two' sometime with a willing female - and no, it has nothing to do with the current TV show of the same title. Loved the song when it was released and had no idea back then it was a cover from Tina's days with Ike. Gotta learn it first though.

Wow, there are WAY more duets on karaoke than I thought and remarkably, I know quite a few of 'em despite in the past being stumped for thinking of any of them besides those from Grease whenever a girl's requested a sing together. Live and learn, eh?

One of the more contemporary duets I could learn is Britney's 'Boys.' Any takers?

AND... just before I go and get on with my life A-WAY from this site (lol), I just spotted Roz's ref to holding onto a mobile phone for a listener's benefit at karaoke. I was at a karaoke several years back in the city and had the great pleasure of witnessing a girl dial a number on her phone before holding up the phone towards the speakers as I was singing for a while before I heard her say, 'You hear that?.... How good is that?.... NO!! That's a guy SINGING on stage at KARAOKE!!' Ah........ MOST flattering!! It was one of the songs I was even sick to death of hearing back then: Elvis' 'Can't Help Falling In Love.' Used to love that song. Then all the wannabe's ruined it for me. Even when someone sings it great now, I can't listen to it without cringing and I only VERY reluctantly accept singing it as a request these days.

Anyone else have songs like that? That is, you USED to love them but no longer do thanks to people murdering it too often at karaoke?
