My mistake on the identity of your mate. Point remains valid though that you DO have a current bf, so that's the whole Mic Rophone romantic fantasy at Castleaoke out the window right there. Mind you the Legs and lust factor may have had some validity... and possibly a WHOLE other type of plot... We'll have to wait for the personal introductions before that can be confirmed though - no matter HOW good 'the text' is! (Right, Legs? lol ;P)
Really looking forward to 'Doctor Jones' duet. I had had the same thought - that I was the only weirdo who liked it. Nice to know I WASN'T the only weirdo on the block. I think Aqua was an under-rated band. The deep voiced guy with zany personality... and that lead singer, LENE!!.... PHWOAR!!! That girl had APPEAL!! She surprised me with 'If Only I Could Turn Back Time' when she showed a more sensitive quality to her voice. Not the best technical voice in the world but she had appeal all the same (to me, anyway). I'm still in denial over the whole 'Barbie Girl' event. In fact, to me it was a NON event. It never happened. In fact, I don't even know what I'm typing about!! So, just drop it will you?!? lol

Fitzy WAS reading the other day, so Diamonds & Pearls could be a go-er. YIPPEE!!! It's about the only Prince song I really LIKE. Others can be cool whether to dance to or sing to test the vocals but that song, I can actually sit down and chillax to. It's nice when a karaoke song is one you'd actually enjoy just listening to. I don't have many of those anymore. It's all become about testing the vocal range and flirting with female audiences for me now. Wasn't comp chasing that jaded me so much as losing my raw vocal talent due to lousy singing teaching and then having to retrain myself how to sing from scratch - even just to hold a tune again! Still, it put me on the path to better singing, greater appreciation for different genres of music and improved confidence as a musical artist, so it's all worked out so far for the best.

Was hoping to head to Chatty RSL tomorrow but I think I may have to be sensible; CONserve and PREserve my REserve which is, imho, much lower than I DEserve right now.
Yet, somehow, comp chasing just doesn't hold the appeal it once did. Think I'll have to just get out there and start selling my own music instead. I did plan ages ago to create some CDGs of my own songs to take with me to karaoke - I DO so HATE when people take their own discs that have no words for the audience to follow along with. That's NOT karaoke, in my opinion. I even get a little annoyed at the comp finals at Chatty that don't show the clips but I can understand that in a grand final, you want to focus attention towards what's going on on stage and not run the risk of it getting focussed on the screen instead. In my case, that's pretty easy to do, especially when the purple-catsuit clad blonde in 'Bust A Move' comes on! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.................... lol

Might as well announce it here that I had had it in mind to use a very powerful and influential contact to get a song of mine to the decision makers working on James Bond's 'Casino Royale' movie due out in November. I wanted it to be the theme song but one thing after another prevented me from getting it ready despite having had the music for over 2 years now and the words since about 18 months ago. Maybe it was all those chain emails which I deleted, to blame... Who knows??? Heheheh. Ah well. They got a song submitted already and it's not too bad, I guess. I prefer mine from a personal and critical point of view but them's the breaks. Guess I'll hold onto the tune and some of the lyrics till the next Bond flick is in need of a song. Why Bond? Because not only does it sound very Shirley Bassey-ish but I've incorporated the trademark James Bond theme into its build up at the end - all me playing but it sounds very authentic - and I should hate for that to go to waste if I rewrote the lyrics - not to mention the royalty fees of using the Bond material in it - if the piece was a stand alone song rather than seen as a collaborative effort between myself and the film makers for mutual benefit. Me not silly!!
Anyway, I've got loads more songs to work on for hitting the big time. You can bet I'll release mine on karaoke officially should they make it mainstream - and I believe they will after the feedback I've so far received. Plus, I'll make darn sure, they're the proper versions of the songs cos, in fact, I create my own karaoke-esque music before I lay down the final lead vocal tracks. I wonder how many other artists work alongside karaoke track manufacturers to create the most authentic recordings... Anyone know?
Hmm... Feeling a little inspired. Time to resume my search for some good karaoke making software (not the MIDI based garbage either:- YUK, with a capital 'WHY, God? WHY????????' lol).
If there's some ladies of African descent here interested in being soulful backing vocalists to a deep voiced man, please contact me through David. Refer him to this post.
Anyone with suggestions of good software for putting together music of one's own composition rather than samples, I'd appreciate 'em also! Ta. Tried a few but I seem to have difficulty in either learning them or getting them to synchronize the different music tracks easily. Usually, I have to do it manually and when they don't like the timing, look out!! So many of them have spyware/adware attached and I really can't afford that stuffing up the contents of my computer's hard drive.
I put all this here as I don't think I'm the only karaoker who writes their own music and since I wish to make karaoke tracks of the songs too, it is SORTA relevant here. =)
Take care, everyone! Keep on singing!!
