| From the Where2sing.com forum: Johnny B: Regarding software, I gave in and switched to Apple Mac OS X which comes with a great program called Garage Band that allows multi-track composition and recording via the various inputs supported by the mac mini.
For those still in PC land, audacity seems an easy to use program for mastering tracks although you will need a separate loop editor / midi tracker for the backing tracks if you can't record them live.
I've found http://www.recordingeq.com/tipcurr.html very useful to help understand the techniques behind mixing and mastering.
