Rob Deal...
Thanking you once more! I'll keep that one in mind.
Great thing about 'Reaper' (besides its name heheheh) is its user manual is downloadable as a separate file and I've been going through that before even installing. Sounds like just the thing I need but I'll need to test drive it and try out the other programs I got too.
Audacity also has the functionality you mentioned about moving the tracks (when it's not glitching anyway) but Reaper actually has the option of musical timing being on display rather than minutes and seconds so now, I should be able to get synched much faster since I'll be able to see where the beats and off-beats are in the song.
No probs with the mic. Got a lovely Rode studio one last year to replace my SM-58 clone (which yes, I know is for live performance rather than recording but hey, I got a great deal on that and it was better than supermarket type ones even if it did eventually fall apart on me - hence the need for a replacement! lol). Also got a pre-mix to go with the Rode. Actually, I got the mic, the pre-mix, the quality mic stand AND some leads all for the price of the mic itself. Awesome!! I think that purchase was made possible courtesy of my final karaoke comp win which would have been Christmas '04. Handy things comps were...

Ta for that site, m'dear. I have tried some of their stuff. In fact, I think it was through them that I found Audacity, although, I could be mistaken. It WAS a while ago.
Re Thursday: Well, if you and Miss Flirty can make it to Quakers, great, if not, that's cool too. I'll be busy flirting with the cutie from the party hopefully - or possibly others. That venue used to attract them for reasons unbeknownst to me! Perhaps one day, you'll get down to Chatswood RSL to meet el barto and myself in person. Also, we still have the options of Kev's and Jase/Slater's gigs eventually, right? I'm thinking next week for getting to both of those if not too busy on the recording front or too low on funds.

Ta to all. I think I've got what I need now in terms of the song writer friendly recording programs.
Cheers! =)
