From the Where2sing.com forum:

Perhaps the question is exactly who is supposed to discuss if the venue is not happy? I'm not sure that it is the responsibility of the venue, especially if there are other suppliers of karaoke services waiting in the wings. As Rod Deal keeps saying, good communcation with venues is a must for any long-term successful relationship, and for hosts to simply go along running the karaoke week after week without regularly checking with their venues is an open invitation to any of the other operators.

As for whether one of the prospective hosts should be going to the encumbant saying 'all is not well, sit down and talk to your venue' - well, I think that an operator who is not doing this is really not running his business properly and pretty much deserves to lose the business. But, I think a prospective operator who does call the present host and have a word in his ear is one who will reap the benefits of a good public image.
