| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi everyone
Well I will update you on the talent contest at CCC on Saturday night. Who got in? Garry, Rocky and Steve (an Elvis impersonator), I was not supposed to be in the heat but there were a few people who did not show up, so I kind of got myself 'drafted' into it. I was not dressed for it, as I was wearing slacks and a top and hadn't even had time to do my hair properly, but I don't think that was taken into consideration. Who knows, I don't know what the judges were thinking. Judges were Jim Porter, Jason and a man that Mick knows who comes from South America, Rick (who didn't know much about the judging system that is used there). I would have liked to have gotten to the semi finals but it was not to be for me this year. I did try, I sang 'Jambalaya' and 'Needles and Pins' which is one of my better songs (so people tell me), but it was Garry (who sang well) and Rocky and the Elvis impersonator Steve who got through. Had I known beforehand that I was going to be in the competition that night, I would have bought a change of clothes with me, but it is history now. Lyndon gave it everything he had and I truly admired him for it in spite of his disability, he got up there and sang his heart out.
The restaurant is now up and operational agin and I must say that the food is fabulous. I did not hear one complaint at all about the food. I had lasagne and it was absolutely deliciious. I think that these people are the best that have been there, the original chinese people had nice food for sale, but this beats their food by miles.
There are another 9 heats to go, so I wish everyone who has entered the contest or is thinking of entering it, the very best of luck.
I am now off to bed as I have a bad dose of hay fever.
