| From the Where2sing.com forum: David...you really do seem to be misinformed as to the situation why we lost the gig in question...and i take it as a very personal thing to be told that we lost this gig through our own fault, when we did and made every effort to arrange a meeting with management to secure what was an unstable gig...they only choose to talk with us after we found out of another operator coming in to replace us...so why if the said venue was considering this other host for many months as you stated, then why were we taken on in the first place as this operator had a Saturday night opening well before we started our 2 week stint there??? There was no karaoke for the month prior to our instatement into the venue there was other entertainment so how could we be finishing up someone elses agreement..Shock horror could we have been lied to...how ethical of these business people...
I challenge any host out there to state that they could prove themselves within two weeks of starting a new gig that hasn't had karaoke for the last month or so with absolutely no advertising from the venue to state karaoke is back...no we were used and abused by this venue we choose to stand up for our rights and say it was WRONG!!
There is alot more to the scene up here in Qld than you truly are unaware of and i will be sending you a private email for YOUR EYES ONLY in the next day or so giving you some examples of the underhand tricks that have entered this enjoyable industry..
We at Karma Karaoke choose to be ethical & fun with our business and we do not run a substandard show regardless of what you choose to read into our loss of what would have been our third venue in just 3 Months of operation...We will not be bullied or intimated to being second rate to any show as our approach to our shows is done from a singers / patrons perspective(as we once were), not a full on dull business persons point of view...We have learnt our lesson from the loss of a venue and are very proactive with our other venues....
