| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi david I am not sure what the story is with the new user pay site I was always impress with the site when it was free to get the info such as phone numbers of clubs and pubs and so on.
I was under the impression that the ads where payed for by the KJs and that the site was there to support a client base so in order to support the KJs gigs.
I will work out a way to forward on payment to where to sing but at this time I dont like to purchase thinks over the net due to giving out details of credit cards on line.If I can join by sending a cheque or money order that would be good.
I feel that the venue and the KJs should be paying to get the customers in the door and that the customer base should be supported.
I understand that you are a business and I also understand that you need to make profit and I feel that more work needs to be done to sell the benifits of an add to the venues and KJs.They are the ones that get an income, the customer is the one that gives them that income.
I will support this site but feel that it was doing a better service before it because user pay.

Actually, the site was not previously financially supported by anyone, and the new subscription method is to support the site with as little money as possible from each person. Hosts generally feeled squeezed between singer expectations of expensive equipment and songlists, and venues that struggle to afford to provide the free entertainment. It is a slow process to educate hosts that a nvery few dollars to W2S greatly improves their own income, and I agree with you that this is really where the money should be coming from.
