Have to put my few words in here. Just remember that it is very hard to contact the correct person at a pub or club. Sometimes the venues themselves do not know who is organising the entertainment. Responsibility can shift from one week to another. I see it all the time and even as a Committee member get confused on who to talk to. It depends on shifts, other priorities in the venue at the time.
Quite often Committee is blamed for something as the Management do not want to take the responsibility of the members arking up a them so pass the buck. Kay and David, information received by yourselves with regards to the other host targeting your gig is very hard to prove and I think that is what the majority of the posts are not sympathetic to your situation. It seems to me like the venue has played games with you and mucked you about. Again you do not know what information has been given to the venue with regards to the previous host (who was in charge of the competition) they may have associated you with that person and decided to go with someone else but unable to give you the full story. Hope you can see there are some of us that feel for you both, but try not to get too emotional in your posts and run others down, even if it is how you feel. For those that don't know you we can only go by what we read. Keep on posting. Regards
