| From the Where2sing.com forum: We Thought we would slip back down to the BROOK for a meal last (Sat) night...and also to see how our former Saturday night venue was faring without us ...lol......well I have got to say 'Chicken and Chips' had the BROOK bar a rockin` beyond our wildest expectations ..lmao...as a matter of fact the BROOK hotel was just buzzing and was a hive of activity....tee hee......Wouldnt you know it?...in a brain explosion of innovative thinking...staff told us that the manager was bringing live music back on Saturday nights....hang on a minute! .....wasnt THAT the very reason they brought Karaoke on in the first place....due to the abject failure of Bands and other forms of live entertainment at the BROOK on a Saturday night??..........and isnt it also a fact that SATURDAY nights Karaoke at the BROOK had attracted more patrons to the BROOK bar than ever before?.......but as it is with many venue managers...marketing and management skills are often sadly lacking..with many decisions being made based on their OWN personal preferences and NOT on any informed or researched business principles .........I would have thought that ANY company would/should be able to recognise the best product or service they have to offer (based on researched statistics) .....and then spend some time/money/effort in developing that to its fullest?...instead of going back to all of the least succesfull and things that have failed dismally in the past.......Ok Thats my grievance for the day ...LOL
