From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hi Johnny B
If Hosts have a fair rotation why do they need software?
2 weeks ago one of our singers asked if they could be brought forward as the person (lady working in the bistro) who requested them to sing a special song for, was leaving.
Looking at our list the singer was about 25 minutes away from their song.
A quick word with all the singers in front of him resulted in allowing him to be brought forward and so everyone was happy.
I doubt that a software programme could give that sought of satisfaction.
Then you have the singers that hand up their slips with the express wish of “don’t put me up straight away as I haven’t had enough to drink” or “my friends aren’t here yet could you please put me on latter”.
I must say I do enjoy the interaction of singers when they bring their slips up to us.
Singers also love to take their time studying a pondering over song books looking for that one song that will make their 5 minutes of stardom something special.
Don’t get me wrong I hate renewing books and I think technology will eventually change the way Karaoke Shows are run and Rob Deal is testimony to this, but alas, I have had my Karaoke equipment longer than my computer and my computer has just recently crashed big time.
One of my regular singers said last week that he has printed off all the songs from my web site and looks at this prior to coming on Wednesdays but he still likes to look at our books.
Just my thoughts

Kind Regards
Kev
